Used as an alternative to restraining, the Bed Side Bumpers are suitable for patients who do not try to climb out of bed, but simply roll off the edge. This could be due to a proprioceptive condition. When the Bumpers are in position on the bed, the patient can roll to the edge and will have the foam to lean against instead of rolling over the edge. The Bumpers may also prevent patients from wriggling down the bed as they may hug the Bumpers as a comforter.
