Description

Used as an alternative to restraining, the Bed Side Bumpers are suitable for patients who do not try to climb out of bed, but simply roll off the edge. This could be due to a proprioceptive condition. When the Bumpers are in position on the bed, the patient can roll to the edge and will have the foam to lean against instead of rolling over the edge. The Bumpers may also prevent patients from wriggling down the bed as they may hug the Bumpers as a comforter.

Key Features

  • Alternative to using bed rails
  • Alternative to using Bed Side Wedges
  • Alternative to using a Zip-A-Bed
  • Alternative to using a Soft Belt

To Fit: Place the Bumpers on the bed between the patient's shoulders and hips. The four webbing straps should be completely wrapped around the bed side frame rail and then fastened together. The Bed Side Bumpers have a special breathable soft waterproof cover. A Draw Mac plastic cover and an incontinence Kylie pad can also be used.

* Proprioceptive - relating to the nerve elements which give information about movement or position of parts of the body.
