Description

The Bed Side Wedge Alarm Pad can be added to our Bed Side Wedges or Bed Side Wedge - One Side to alert Carers when a Patient presses down on a Wedge while getting out of bed. It can also be used to alert when a Patient is leaning against a Wedge. The Alarm Pad is installed between the outer sleeve and the Wedge cushion. We recommend the Alarm Pad is positioned underneath the Wedge, so that if the Patient pushes down on the Wedge while getting out of bed, the Alarm will alert the Carer.

Key Features

  • Connection Options: The Alarm Pad is available with a Touch Alarm Box to sound inside the Patient’s room, or a 10 metre Extension Cord can be used so that the Touch Alarm Box can be taken to another room. It is also available with a Nurse Call Plug, to sound an alert through a facility's Nurse Call Paging System.
  • Adding More Alarm Pads: Two Bed Side Wedge Alarm Pads can be joined together using a Y-Connector, to plug into a single Touch Alarm Box or Nurse Call Socket. Additional Alarm Pads can be connected as required by using multiple Y-Connectors plugged in to each other. For people who wish to use more than one Alarm Pad, the Alarm Pad & Y-Connector option is available in the drop down menu for ordering an Alarm Pad bundled with a Y-Connector, to add to an Alarm Pad with Touch Alarm Box or Alarm Pad with Nurse Call Plug.

Additional Information

Usually only one Alarm Pad will be needed, in a Wedge near the shoulders on the side of the bed that the Patient normally gets out of.

Note: The Alarm will not sound if the Patient tries to get out of bed and does not touch the Alarm Pad. If getting out of bed is a problem, we suggest using a Stand-Up Floor Alarm.
