The Win Shelf: Why Small Wins Deserve a Place of Their Own

Illustration of two orange trophies on a dark blue background with sparkles around them. The left trophy has white dots arranged in a circle, and the right trophy has a white heart symbol. White text above the trophies reads, “Why Small Wins Deserve a Place of Their Own.” In the bottom right corner, the orange and white Chooze Shop logo is displayed.

Because not every win is loud. Some just need a place to sit.

💡 What is a “Win Shelf”?

At Chooze, we talk a lot about progress and how it often doesn’t look the way people expect.

Some days, it’s not about ticking off a to-do list or achieving something big.
It’s about the little moments you got through. The quiet choices you made that no one saw. The effort it took just to show up.

That’s where the idea of a Win Shelf comes in.

Think of it like a small shelf in your mind. A safe spot to place the everyday victories that deserve to be seen.
Not by everyone. Just by you.

🧡 Why it matters

If you’re living with disability, raising a child with additional needs, or adjusting to life as an older Australian, you’re likely carrying a lot behind the scenes.

You might be juggling appointments, support plans, sensory needs, physical pain or deep exhaustion. And in the middle of all that, you’re still finding ways to care, to try, and to get through.

That’s the magic of the Win Shelf.
It gives value to the moments that don’t usually get applause.

âś… What belongs on your Win Shelf?

Here’s our short answer:
Anything that took effort, courage or care.

Some examples:

  • Got out of bed, even if it took time
  • Asked a question at an appointment
  • Tried a new support product
  • Made a hard phone call
  • Packed a lunch for my child with new textures and they tried one
  • Let yourself rest without guilt
  • Put dinner in the microwave
  • Used your walking stick at the shops, even though you felt self-conscious
  • Brushed your child’s hair while they were calm
  • Stopped to take a breath before things spiralled

These are not small things. These are real things.
And they all deserve a spot on your shelf.
