The Chair Pad is made from a special foam and breathable sports material that allows air to flow freely through it. Many chairs for elderly people are covered in a wipeable vinyl type of material, which makes cleaning easier. As these materials do not breathe, the people sitting or lying in the chairs may become hot and perspire.

Additional Information
Quite often, the carers place cotton sheets on top of the chairs. These are very large and may bunch up or drape over the sides of the chair, making the person look undignified. To make fitted covers for the chairs is very expensive. They may also not fit correctly due to the many different designs of chairs.
