There are breathing holes located under the tie straps, allowing air to escape when patients sit down. Make sure the holes are underneath to prevent shower water entering the cushion.

Additional Information
When doing up the straps to the commode frame, ensure they are not tied to the removable arms. If a patient slides forward when getting off the cushion, it is recommended to undo the straps so the cushion slips with the patient, helping to prevent shear force between the patient's skin and the cushion.
