The Slide Board - Trolley is a plastic board used for sliding patients lying supine from a bed to a trolley. It bridges the small gap of about 15cm (6") between the bed and trolley. This product is translucent.
Key Features
- Safe Working Load (SWL): Consult your Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Back Care Specialist when using Manual Handling Products.
- Easy to Use: Simply use the draw sheet to roll the patient onto their side with their back facing towards the trolley.
- Non-Slip Tape: Some manufacturers have non-slip tape on the back of their Slide Boards. The non-slip tape is not really necessary, as the Slide Boards do not move a lot when they are correctly positioned.
- Cleaning: Wipe clean with a hospital grade disinfectant. Wipe dry. Ensure the product is dry before using or storing.
Additional Information
Note: As this is considered an over-sized item, customers from outside of Australia should contact us before placing an order so that we can provide an accurate shipping cost.
Also available: Slide Board - Trolley - Hand Slots.
When pulling, one or two nurses should hold the sheet aligned to the patient's hips and shoulder. If necessary, a nurse can transfer the patient's feet and another can guide the head. However, if a bed sheet is used instead of a draw sheet, then the patient's feet will be moved at the same speed. After moving the patient across, roll the patient on their side again to remove the Slide Board.
Sometimes a large sheet can be used that will reach the far side of the trolley. This saves the nurses from leaning forward and pulling. This means they can use their own body weight to pull the sheet across.
