The Stand Up Alarm - Lino is a nice homely looking alarm. The wood grain look helps it blend in so it does not look out of place. The Stand-Up Floor Alarm-Lino has been made as thin as possible to help prevent trips, with the material used 1.5mm / 0.06" thick at the edge. On the top is a wipeable lino material, and underneath is a miracle grip rubber material to help the Mat stay in position when someone is standing on it.

The alarm is placed on the floor next to the bed, normally on the side closest to the door or toilet. This is the side people generally get out of bed during the night. When placed correctly, this item should not be a tripping hazard, as part of the mat goes under the bed. The length of the mat (130cm / 51") is designed so that it will fit between most bed legs. If a Patient is likely to get out of both sides of the bed, then two Floor Alarms can be placed on either side of the bed. These are joined together using a Y Connector (sold separately) to the Touch Alarm Box or Nurse Call system.

Cleaning
Wipe the cover clean with a mild hospital-grade disinfectant. Allow to dry before use. The internal Contact Sheets cannot be cleaned.

Warning: When using a double adaptor, if the Patient's Nurse Call button is removed from the adaptor, then the automatic Nurse Call system may not alert staff. There may be occasions when the facility does not want the patient to have a Nurse Call button as they may have dementia and be pushing the button for no reason. We understand that the Patients should always have access to a Nurse Call button, so if this is removed, we recommend documenting this in their care plan. If the Patient's Nurse Call button is removed then the Pelican Stand Up Alarm can be plugged directly into the wall socket without using the double adaptor.
Warning - Choking Hazard: The nurse call plug includes a small component as part of the design. This product may not be suitable for an individual who has a tendency to place inedible objects in their mouths.
